Hello there and welcome to my page!
My name is Ekaterina Jürgens and I am a macroeconomist with a particular focus on fiscal policy.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Mannheim.
In addition, I work at the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) of the Hans Böckler Foundation in Düsseldorf in a joint project estimating municipal infrastructure investment needs in cooperation with the German Institute for Urban Affairs (difu).
I completed my doctorate at the University of Bamberg. My dissertation, Essays on the Political Economy of Public Investment and Debt, received the Young Scholar Prize of the German Keynes Society (2026).
